When it comes to cookware, most of us are faced with the choice between traditional stainless steel for professional searing or non-stick coating for easy daily cleanup. But what if you didn’t have to choose? That’s exactly what HexClad promises, the brand conquering kitchens—and social media—with its futuristic-looking hybrid cookware.
With celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s seal of approval and a design that looks like it belongs on a spaceship, HexClad claims to combine the best of stainless steel, non-stick, and cast iron in a single pan. But does it live up to its promise?
We tested HexClad in a real British kitchen—morning omelets, midweek stir-fries, seared steaks, and everything in between—to bring you our full, brutally honest review of whether this cookware is genius or just another gimmick.

HexClad is a three-layer hybrid pan that combines:
This gives you a textured surface that’s non-stick but doesn’t feel fragile and is safe to use with metal utensils. It’s also oven-safe, dishwasher-safe, and works on induction cooktops.
From the UK HexClad store, we tested the following:
25 cm Hybrid Wok
7 pc HexClad Hybrid Cookware Set w/ Lids & Wok
7.5 Litre Hybrid Pot With Lid
Hybrid Pizza Steel
We used each piece over a period of 30 days for everything from boiling and frying to baking and braising.
Whether you’re an experienced home cook or looking to upgrade from a basic pan set, HexClad’s hybrid cookware promises unmatched versatility and durability. We tested four of their top British products—including the trendsetting wok, complete cookware set, hybrid saucepan, and even the latest pizza steel—to see how they perform in real kitchens.
This smaller-sized wok is the perfect fusion of East and West cooking styles. It preheats quickly, maintains high heat for searing proteins, and the sloped sides make tossing ingredients easy—even for non-pros. Unlike traditional carbon steel woks, this doesn’t need seasoning and works on induction. It’s also far easier to clean, thanks to the hybrid nonstick surface.
This all-in-one set is HexClad at its best. Whether you're searing steaks, scrambling eggs, or simmering curry in the wok, each piece feels solid, reliable, and pro-grade. We appreciated the uniform heat across all pans, the oven compatibility, and how each pan performs consistently regardless of what you’re cooking.
The first thing you’ll notice is the expensive look of HexClad cookware. The laser-engraved hexagonal pattern on the surface is not only eye-catching but also functional. It protects the nonstick coating while allowing the steel to contact the surface for browning and crisping.
Each pan sits securely in your hand. There are no wobbly handles, no cheap finishes, and no plastic in sight. The three-layer construction (stainless steel + aluminum core + non-stick coating) ensures excellent heat retention and durability.
Thanks to its aluminum core and stainless steel base, HexClad heats evenly and quickly. No hot spots, even on electric stoves. Searing steaks? Golden brown and crispy. Tender fish? Cooked thoroughly without tearing.
Expectations need to be adjusted a bit here.
The real magic? You can use metal utensils—spatulas, tongs, and even forks—without worrying about scratches.
Despite the ribbed pattern, cleaning was very easy. A little soap and warm water removed everything with a soft sponge. For more stubborn dirt (like caramelized sauces), soaking or putting it in the dishwasher was sufficient.
It is also dishwasher safe, although we prefer hand washing to protect the surface.
✅ Oven-safe up to 260°C
✅ Induction compatible
✅ Safe with metal utensils
✅ Handles stay cool on stovetop
Whether you brown it on the stovetop and finish cooking it in the oven or use it on an induction cooktop, the performance is equivalent to that of a premium restaurant cookware.
HexClad isn’t cheap. The 25cm Hybrid Wok costs around £129, and the 7-piece set starts at £439. However, compared to premium stainless steel (like All-Clad) or boutique non-stick brands, it’s actually in the mid-to-high price range.
Given its durability, versatility, and performance, it offers good long-term value—especially if you’re looking to streamline your kitchen.
No cookware is perfect. Here’s what we noticed:
Brilliant – if you know what you’re buying.
It’s not for everyone. If you cook infrequently or want ultra-smooth surfaces without oil, you should look elsewhere. But for the ambitious home cook or seasoned foodie? This next-generation cookware delivers on its promises.
